| Worship: Sunday at
10:30. This is a blended worship of hymns and praise courses with
biblical preaching. Television The primary worship
service is on GBS channel 3 on Sunday Evenings at 5pm. Internet: The television
broadcast of the Sunday morning service is also available online via
the GBS Television website. Viewers need the Windows Media Player to

load the file and view Sunday's service Contemporary worship: Sunday at 7 PM. This
service is led by a full band and held in the fellowship hall.
Casual clothes are encouraged. Sunday School for all age groups.
There are multiple choices for adults. Kids for Christ: Each Wednesday night
the members of First Church host kids from the community after
school. When they arrive we offer a snack, and then they play
games and do homework until 3:45. We then begin with music for 15
minutes, and then the kids have 20 minutes of blible lesson, 20 minutes
of memory verse and 20 minutes of craft time. At 5pm they are
given a sit down meal with table parents at each table. Divorce Care Men's Bible Study Meets each Saturday
at Carries Country Kitchen in Pleasantville at 7am. Small Groups Meet in homes and at
the church on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Grief Support Class Offered every
other quarter. Puppets: Teens led by
Charlotte Randall and Ann Leach make puppets and master the art of
puppetry. This is for the more mature Christian teens who are
ready to be ministers as well as be ministered to. Caring Ministries: Some members of the
church are matched with homebound and elderly members and
constituents of our church for visits, sending cards and calls. UMWomen: Ladies of the church meet monthly to do local service projects and raise awareness of missions. UMM: The men meet monthly
on a Thursday evening with the men of other local UM churches for a
meal and program. Mission Support: Besides contributing
19,000 in Denominational Mission share, the church gives partial
support to scores of other missionaries and mission programs both
locally and around the world as well as local community service
projects. . Choirs, choirs, choirs: There are many
options for everyone in the family. Little kids bells, chimes,
Adult bells both in the regular and an ecumenical group. There
are also children and adult vocal choirs. Promise Keepers: Our men are encouraged to participate in, and the church hosts promise keepers on a rotating basis. This is held at 6:30 AM on Sunday mornings. Locations are listed in the paper and in the church worship folder. |
